The Trademark Series - Release of 2003 with
new label
The 2003 range of varietals are sporting a
new bottle and label design! Our Durif, Shiraz and Shiraz Cabernet,
are now available in the new design, which presents the Date
Brothers signarures on each variety. It was decided late last
year, to try and come up with a new label design. After sourcing
out the designer of the label, John Jewell, at the Melbourne
Fine Wine & Spirits Exhibition, we went ahead and are absolutely
thrilled with the new design. Our Chardonnay 2005 vintage, will
be bottled with new label later this year.
2004 USA/Canada World Trade Mission

In April/May 2004, Fiona was fortunate
enough to represent Date Brothers, along with Chris Curran, Chris
Gorman, Richard Sara, Mark Pavilach, and Bill Efrosinis, all from
the Mildura/Swan Hill region. This mission was organised by Craig
Urand from Trade Start, Mildura, in conjunction with Austrade, he
also attended the mission.
The trip incorporated the 2004 World Wine Market in San Francisco,
which was a 3-day event, held at the Ford Mason Centre. It was huge!
Wine growing countries from all over the world were present. The
Australian stand, being one of the most popular, was well received
and it was such a good feeling, proudly putting our region on the
map as a significant wine-growing region!
Private tastings with Importers and Distributors in Phoenix was also
a port of call, the venue being Wine Concepts. Again the wines were
well received.
Most beneficial to Date Brothers, was tastings held with several
Agents in Toronto, Canada. This was organised by Marie Ross, the
Trade Commissioner for Austrade based in Toronto. Following this
trip, an agent was signed up to represent Date Brothers in Ontario
and what has begun from this, is the hopeful success of exporting
our wines to Canada. It’s quite a long drawn out process, but prospects
are excellent and at this stage are still being pursued. Hopefully
by the end of this year, Date Brothers will achieve their ambition
to export their wine to Canada.
It was a wonderful experience being part of this mission and the
assistance from Austrade was invaluable. |
